How to treat itchy anus through home remedies and natural treatments

It is a very common condition to have an itchy anus. The itch of your anus can be placed in or around your anus. It is often intense. It may be accompanied by a strong urge to scratch.

Many people feel that anal itching is uncomfortable and embarrassing. Anal itching is also known as pruritus. It can have many possible causes, such as hemorrhoids, skin problems, and washing not enough or too much.

You should mix 1 tablespoon of psyllium husks and a glass of hot milk. You should consume this home remedy on regular basis, so you will prevent anal itching and can treat constipation.

Maintain regular and firm bowel movements

If frequent bowel movements or soft stools are a problem, then you should gradually add fiber to your diet. You can take fiber supplements such as methylcellulose and psyllium because they can help you to have normal bowel movements.

Change your diet

You should avoid all foods that cause diarrhea, such as tomatoes, spicy foods, chocolates, citrus fruits, alcohol, cola, and coffee. Also, you should avoid the overuse of laxatives.

Ghee

You need to warm one teaspoon of ghee slightly. Then, you need to rub this warm ghee around and in your anus using your index finger. You should follow this process for several minutes. After you have finished with this natural treatment, you should use mild soap and clean water to rinse your hands thoroughly. You should use this home remedy every several hours so that you will treat the itching.

Petroleum jelly

This natural remedy can give you relief from anal itching effectively. This home remedy will form a lubricating layer in the anal area, and this lowers friction and irritation.

Also, it will give you relief from the burning sensation that is caused by anal itching. You should take some petroleum jelly and then apply this home remedy to the affected area two times per day. You will notice that this home remedy will give you relief from anal itching very fast.

Yogurt

If you want to have the best results, then you should use yogurt with good bacteria (these are live active cultures) because these bacteria can aid in controlling the growth of the infection. You should use unsweetened, plain yogurt if you have anal itching. You should take some plain yogurt and rub it on the affected skin. Then, let your application remain for at least twenty to thirty minutes. After that, you should use warm water to rinse it off and finally dry the affected area. Also, you can eat two to three cups of plain yogurt on daily basis.

Avoid irritants

You should avoid moist wipes, harsh or perfumed soaps, genital deodorants, and bubble baths. You should choose white and unscented toilet paper.

Licorice root

This home remedy can assist in treating anal itching. It can help you to deal with skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema, which are responsible for anal itching.

Also, it can help to lower the redness, irritation, and itching which are caused by anal itching. You should mix the next ingredients in equal amounts: cardamom, licorice, chebulic myrobalan, 1 glass of water, and one teaspoon of honey.

You should slightly roast this mixture and then grind these ingredients to make a fine powder. You should mix one–quarter teaspoon of this powder and one teaspoon of honey in one glass of water. You should consume this home remedy once every day. Also, you can apply an OTC licorice cream to the affected area several times per day.

White cotton underwear

You should always wear white cotton underwear that does not bind. This can help you to keep the area dry. You should avoid wearing pantyhose and other tight-fitting garments because they can trap moisture.

Do not scratch

You should avoid scratching as much as possible because it can further irritate your skin. You can apply a moist, room–temperature compress to the area, or you should take oatmeal or a lukewarm bath so that you will notice relief from the itchy anus. You should trim your nails short, and you should wear cotton gloves while you are sleeping, so this can help you to prevent scratching.

Coconut oil

This home remedy has the ability to soothe the skin. It is rich in antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial properties. It can help in the fight against any infection which contributes to anal itching. Also, it can help to expel intestinal worms. You should take two to three tablespoons of extra–virgin coconut oil, and you should consume it on daily basis. Also, you can use coconut oil for cooking.

Also, you can take some coconut oil and rub it around and in the affected area a couple of times per day so that you will get relief from the itching and burning sensations.

Oatmeal

You can use oatmeal to treat anal itching. It is a very useful home remedy for healing inflamed, itchy and irritated skin because it has anti-inflammatory, soothing, and anti-irritating. You will need unprocessed oat flour or colloidal oatmeal, from one to two cups, and lukewarm water.

You need to fill a bathtub with lukewarm water. Then, mix the unprocessed oat flour or colloidal oatmeal in this bathtub. You should soak in the resultant water for around 15 – 20 minutes. It is recommended to take an oatmeal bath once or twice per day.

Aloe Vera

This home remedy is used a lot in many different skin care products. This home remedy has calming and soothing properties, which can help to alleviate soreness, inflammation, and itching.

Also, it can decrease the irritation of hemorrhoids which can cause anal itching. You will need a fresh Aloe Vera leaf. You should take an Aloe Vera leaf and then cut it open. Then, you should extract the gel from it and start rubbing it around and in the anus for 5 minutes. You need to reapply this gel every few hours so that you will get relief from itching and soreness.

Garlic

This is one of the best home remedies which you can use to treat anal itching. It can help in the fight against intestinal worms, which are the reason for anal itching.

Also, garlic has antifungal, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties, which can help to deal with any kind of infection which contributes to anal itching. You need to take two crushed garlic cloves and boil them in half a cup of milk. Then, you should consume this home remedy on an empty stomach for around a week. Also, you can eat two to three raw garlic cloves on an empty stomach every day for a period of a week.

Apple cider vinegar

This home remedy can help to control yeast and fungal infections, which cause anal itching. Also, it can help you to alkalize your body.

You can mix two teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Then, you should consume it two times per day.

Also, you can add one cup of apple cider vinegar to a hot bath. You should soak in this water for about 15 – 20 minutes. You should follow some of the mentioned home remedies once per day. You can repeat these home remedies for a couple of days until the anal itching and irritation subside.
