You should not consume more than 2.5 grams of dried licorice root on daily basis so you will get fast relief. You should eat or drink licorice root thirty minutes before eating or one hour after eating as your home remedy for indigestion.

There was one study in which is said that adults should not have more than ½ teaspoon in 24 – period and no more than 3 ½ teaspoons if they are over age 60.

Fennel seed

This home remedy has antispasmodic properties which can be used for the indigestion after meal. Also, it can soothe other gastrointestinal problems, like bloating, nausea and stomach cramping. You should put ½ teaspoon of crushed fennel seed in water and allow it to boil for ten minutes before you drink it. You should drink fennel tea when you experience indigestion. Chamomile tea
