Natural strep throat remedy – apple cider vinegar and hot water

This is an infection of your throat that affects the larynx, tonsils, and pharynx. Streptococcal pharyngitis is another name for this kind of infection. The bacterium, which is known as Group A Streptococcus, is the cause of strep throat infection.

The most common symptoms of this kind of infection are fever, sore throat, reddening of the tonsils, white patches on the throat, difficulty swallowing, loss of appetite, vomiting, and stomach ache.

Also, there are some cases when you can notice rashes and red spots on your skin. The signs and symptoms of this disease are very similar to other conditions, such as tonsillitis and sore throat, which means that, in many cases, these diseases can be misunderstood. This disease affects children between five and fifteen at most. But also, the chances of getting strep throat if you are an adult are not excluded. You should know that this kind of disease is contagious.

You should avoid contact with people who suffer from strep throat. This disease you can get in the winter months at most. You should treat this condition as soon as possible because if someone is in your area, then he or she can easily get strep throat.

Over–the–counter medications and antibiotics are used at most as part of the treatment for strep throat. But also there are some home remedies that can help you to speed up the recovery process and also it can help to reduce the discomfort which is caused by strep throat. 8 Natural remedies for strep throat

Apple Cider Vinegar

If you suffer from strep throat, then you should use apple cider vinegar as your natural remedy. It has healing and anti-bacterial properties, which can help you to rid of the bacteria which are a reason for strep throat [1].

Also, this natural remedy will help you to boost your immune system, which means that it can fight against infections in a better way.

In one cup of warm water, you should add three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. You should gargle your mouth with this kind of mixture. Do it several times per day over a period of two to three days. In one small glass of water, you can add one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix this remedy.

You should drink this mixture two times per day for a period of a few days until you have noticed improvements in your condition.

Garlic

This kind of vegetable can be used for different kinds of infections, including strep throat, because it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help you to win against these infections [2].

Also, it is rich in sulfur which means that it can help you to boost the immune system and also it can help you to fight against infections. Garlic has Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, selenium, and manganese, which can help you to improve your overall health. You will need a fresh garlic clove. Peel it. You should slice the garlic clove in half. Then, you should suck the garlic on a piece in the same way that you suck candy. You should crush the garlic between your teeth because, in this way, you will release the juice. You should repeat this process several times per day until you have noticed improvements in your condition.

You should put one cup of water to boil. In the water, you should add a pinch of cayenne pepper, one teaspoon of grated garlic, and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon. Then, you should let this mixture boil for 2 minutes. You should strain this mixture. You should drink this mixture when it is warm. Drink it two times per day until you have noticed that you have improvements in your condition.

Cinnamon

This is also a very effective natural remedy if you suffer from strep throat because it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties [3].

They will boost your immune system. In this way, your healing process will be speeded up. Also, you will feel relief from the symptoms caused by strep throat.

In a cup of hot boiling water, you should, add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder. You should let this mixture stay this way for ten minutes. Then, you should add one teaspoon of honey to it. You should drink this remedy for 3 – 4 days until you have noticed that you have improvements in your condition.

Natural cures for strep throat

Cayenne

If you suffer from strep throat, then you should use cayenne as your natural remedy. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can combat the growth of bacteria which is a reason for strep throat, and also it can help you to reduce inflammation [4].

It has capsaicin which can protect you from the toxins in your body, and also it can protect you from the agents which are causing strep throat. You should mix 3 grated garlic cloves, one tablespoon of honey, and ¼ teaspoon of cayenne powder. You should take ½ teaspoon of this remedy. Take it every half to one hour. You should consume it several times per day. After you have drunk this remedy, you should not drink water at the same moment.

Also, you can add one tablespoon of lemon juice with ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper to one glass of hot water. You should gargle your mouth with this remedy several times per day. You should do this method for one or two days if you want to improve your condition.

Lemon and honey

Lemon has high amounts of Vitamin C, which can help you to have good health. Also, this Vitamin will fight against the bacteria which are the reason for strep throat. Honey will give you relief the inflammation and soreness [5].

Your throat will be moisturized because this product has healing properties. In one cup of lukewarm water, you should mix one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of honey. Then, you should sip this remedy in a slow way. You should drink this mixture for a period of a few days until you have noticed that you have relief from strep throat.

Saltwater

You should gargle your mouth with salt water if you want to get relief from the inflammation and pain which are caused by strep throat. The salt will help you to fight against the bacteria, which is a reason for strep throat, while the warm water will have soothing effects on your throat.

In one cup of water, you should add ½ teaspoon of salt. Then, you should stir this mixture until you have noticed that the salt is dissolved from it. You should gargle your mouth with this solution for a period of a few seconds. Then, you should spit this remedy. You should do this method for one or two days at regular intervals.

Chamomile

It can give you relief from the pain in your throat and the headaches because it has analgesic properties [6]. Also, this herb has soothing, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory properties.

In a cup of hot water, you should have 2 – 3 teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers. Then, you should let this remedy steep for 5 – 10 minutes. Then, you should strain this mixture. You should add honey and lemon juice to it. You should drink this remedy 3 – 4 times per day for a period of 2 – 3 days.

Sage

It can slow the growth process of the bacteria, which is a reason for strep throat. This is possible because it has antibacterial properties. Also, this remedy will help you to get relief from the inflammation, pain, and irritation of strep throat [7].

In a cup of hot water, you should add one teaspoon of dried sage. Then, you should cover this mixture. Let it steep for ten minutes. Then, you should strain the leaves. Drink this kind of tea. You should drink 2 cups of sage tea per day if you want to improve your condition. In ½ cup of hot sage tea, you should add juice from ½ lemon and one teaspoon of salt. You should gargle your mouth with this solution 3 – 4 times per day for a period of 2 days. If you are pregnant or you are a nursing mother, then you should not use sage as your natural treatment for strep throat.
