If you are nursing or pregnant, then it is best to avoid damiana leaf. If you take it in high doses, then there is a risk of cyanide toxicity. This is happening due to cyanogenetic glycosides which are found in the damiana leaf. Always talk with your doctor before you start taking damiana leaf as your natural treatment for some kind of problem.
