Hydro peritoneum, peritoneal cavity fluid and peritoneal fluid excess are technical names for ascites. It is basically dealing with the accumulation of the fluid in peritoneal cavity or abdominal cavity. This is a condition of the body in which fluid is accumulated in the cavity of the abdomen. Your stomach gets swollen which is resulting in uneasy and heavy feeling. Your legs swell up and the breathing is not normal which is causing rapid heart palpitations. There are many symptoms of ascites and the main are rapid weight gain, swollen ankles, lethargy, reduced appetite, shortness of breath, nephritic syndrome, portal hypertension, shifting or dullness of percussion, umbilicus eversion, distention of the abdomen and accumulation of fluid in the abdomen. Bitter gourd can be very effective home remedy for people who experience a loss of appetite. Bitter gourd is also known as bitter melon. It has been used as a natural treatment for many different diseases. The recent studies have shown that it has also a positive impact on improving the appetite . This natural cure has many benefits associated with curing obesity, diabetes and dyslipidemia. It has a bitter taste. People who are using bitter gourd in their diets prefer to marinate it with salt or soak it in water. But for people who suffer from asictes is recommended to follow a low sodium diet. They should minimize the amount of salt because it will be beneficial for their health. You should slice 2 unripe bitter gourds lengthwise, take out the seeds and then you should soak them in a low sodium salt – water.
