Tagetes essential oil has many health benefits which can be attributed to its properties as sedative, insecticide, disinfectant, anti – spasmodic, antiseptic, anti – parasitic, antimicrobial and antibiotic substance. Tagetes is also known by a few other names, including Marie Gold and Khaki Bush. It is believed that this herb is native to Africa. From this continent, it is spread to Australia, Europe and America. The scientific name of this herb is Tagetes Minuta. Tagetes is highly valued as an antiseptic, anti – parasitic and insect repellent agent. Tagates essential oil is extracted from its flowers, stalk, stem and leaves by the process of steam distillation. This essential oil can be used to ease catarrh and phlegm deposition as well as congestion and also to treat colitis, dermatitis, skin diseases, Athlete’s foot, burns and wounds.

In the terms that are used for the human body and pathology, biotic growth means growth of protozoa, fungi, bacteria or any other form of parasites in the human body. An antibiotic means an agent which inhibits or counters biotic growth in the body. Tagetes essential oil is antibiotic. It will not allow any biotic growth in your body.
