Pimento essential oil has many health benefits which can be attributed to its properties as tonic, stimulant, rubefacient, relaxant, carminative, antiseptic, antioxidant, analgesic and anesthetic substance. Pimento is a big evergreen tree which is native to South America and Caribbean Islands. The botanical name of pimento is Pimenta Officinalis or Pimenta Dioica. The suffix Officinalis which is used in the botanical name suggests its medicinal properties.

In some countries pimento is known as allspice. The reason why it is known as allspice is that its aroma can be described as a mixture of the scents of pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, clove and few other spices. Prevents bacterial infections: Tetanus and septic are infections of the wounds and internal organs like kidneys, urinary tracts, gall bladder and urethra which are caused by bacteria like Clostridium Tetani and Staphylococcus Aureus. It is known fact that newborn babies which are less than one month old are having the highest chances of getting tetanus and septic.
