Many of us have never heard about this kind of fruit. The scientific name of the velvet apples is Diospyros blancoi. This kind of fruit is used in the Philippines at most. Velvet apples have many health benefits such as relieving respiratory distress, boosting the immune system, clearing skin irritation, lowering blood pressure, detoxifying the body, improving heart health, treating gastrointestinal disorders, and building strong bones.

This kind of fruit also is known as Mabolo, Butter Fruit, and Kamagong.  It is linked to persimmons. This fruit is native to the Philippines. It has velvety and fine fur on its skin and from this part of the velvet, apples come to their name. It has brown or red in color.
