Lycopene has many health benefits which can help to prevent deadly diseases and conditions, such as macular degeneration and cancer. Many people do not know that they should add lycopene in their diets. This is a fat soluble nutrient. Lycopene can prevent the damage to DNA. Lycopene is antioxidant which means that it will neutralize the effects of harmful free radicals by oxidizing itself. This is a carotenoid which means that organic pigments can be converted to Vitamin A.
